Find a contact and send a private message
A private message is addressed to one contact. Open the conversation with the person you want to reach, type your text and send it.
Send a group message
A group message addresses several group members with one text. Open the group, type your message and send it. A reply in the group conversation is addressed to the group.
Understand sending status and delivery
A message travels from your phone over Bluetooth to your Allo device, then over the radio network. A sent message has not necessarily been read by the recipient.
Set up notifications
Notifications can alert you to new private and group messages. Check your phone's settings to see whether notifications are allowed for Allo. Also check sound and Do Not Disturb or Focus settings.
